Dear Tim:

As the announcement is from September, I am not sure whether you’re still looking for new writers at Midnight Poutine, but I’d love to contribute some articles if there are opportunities left 

I’m really interested in writing about film, simply because I have an undergrad in film and I love attending film festivals and I’d love to write film reviews. My interests in terms of film include blaxploitation, ‘60s British cinema, and anything Antonioni. But I like new stuff as well…

I’m also interested in the Montreal music scene, and would love to contribute in that area as well.

In terms of writing experience, I am currently a full-time legal writer (not too creative!) at a publishing house working from home in the Hochelaga-Maisonneuve neighbourhood. I’ve been at this job for two years. Other than that, I took one year of creative writing before going to law school in Ottawa. But I’d love to get those creative juices out and I’ve got plenty of them…I could contribute two-four articles per week, but I’m really not sure what’s the standard amount of contribution so it’s definitely something I could reconsider.

About me: I’m 26-years-old, born and raised in Montreal but left to study and came back three months ago, I’ve got great writing skills, I ♥ Montreal and the whole Montreal vibe, especially after living in Toronto for 18 months recently! I’m a bit eclectic, I’m a jazz pianist, I’ve done some theatre and got into law, and have studied film and literature. So I’m interested in all kinds of stuff.

Cheers

Natasha

Cherchez-vous toujours des contribueurs?

Yes we are.

http://www.voir.ca/blogs/harold_beaulieu/default.aspx

Harold Beaulieu

Are you paying your writers yet?
You make it sound like you are paying your writers.

It would be helpful if you indicated what YOU require and exactly how much you are paying people to create content for your website.

Hi

So, is this a paid gig or is it a contributor/compensation to be determined type of situation?

Dear Tim:

My name is Kaitlyn Innes and I am a McGill student doing a Bachelors of Arts with a Political Science major and a Psychology minor. I am interested in pursuing a career in journalism and came across the Midnight Poutine web site. I have already been published in the McGiIl Daily in the arts and culture section and in the McGill Art History paper. I absolutely loved writing for the arts and culture section and I am involved in the Montreal Drama scene. I was born and raised in Montreal and
I stay updated on film and music festivals, book readings, and theater productions. I would love to write book, play and film reviews as well as articles on museum exhibits. However, my political science background does provide a good base for writing about news, current events or politics. I am interested in writing for either section depending on your need. Ideally I would like to publish one or two articles a week.

Thanks for your time,

Kaitlyn

Dear Tim:

just discovered this site recently, and a bit confused over why it took me so long, because I love it. I'd love to contribute if I can.

What would I write about? Could be anything really. Restaurant reviews of places normal people can go to without breaking into their savings - seems to be an obvious place I'd start. Me and the girlfriend are a bit adventureous and will try almost anything - from burgers to octopus ( if we can afford it !! ). I could also be good for writing about comics, tv, music reviews .. really anything pop-culture-ish.

How often would I like to contribute? Maybe once a week - or when the desire/need really hits me.

Most of my writing - has tended to be on discussion boards, as a contributor on Hour.ca ( where I whored myself for points towards free movie passes ) and as publisher of several e-zines about comics I did seems like a century ago. I like writing, it's fun and it relaxes me.

I've lived in Montreal most of my life - except for a brief 3 years my family lived in exile ( in Toronto ) after the 1st Referendum.

I think it could be fun contributing to MP, hope I get the chance.

Hey Tim.
This may be a long shot, but are you still looking for writers? I'd love to write for Midnight Poutine, but as the last post by a prospective writer was almost a year ago, I'm not sure if the offer is still on the table. If it is (miraculously), I'll write a more detailed post.
Cheers!
