Tired of the boring office parties that leave you feeling awkward around your co-workers the next day? Bored of sipping dry eggnog and watching lame seasonal films? Sick of exam and essay writing?

Luckily for you, the good folks at Upp Records and Il Motor have the fix. Next Wed. (Dec. 17) , they're hosting the Boozehounds Holla-Day Celebration. As if the name alone wasn't enough of a draw, there'll be sets by DJ Jay Watts III, and DJ Heidy n Trebek as well as performances by Broadcast Radio, Poorfolk, and Archipelagos. And, apparently, Jay from The Coloured Lights is opening the night with an "experiment", which I sincerely hope involves both booze and hounds.

Tickets are on sale around town, but why pay when you can go for free. Read on to find out how you can win one of the two pairs of tickets we're giving away to the boozy bash.

Since it's a holiday party, let's have a holiday-themed contest. Post a comment below and tell me about the time you discovered Santa wasn't real. Or when you discovered (s)he was real. Intimate memories, I know, but we're all friends here.

The two most heartbreaking or tear-inducing stories win. Each winner will receive one pair of tickets to attend the Boozehounds party. Contest closes on Monday Dec. 15th at noon.

Party-goers are encouraged to wear a festive costume, you might even get a treat if you do. And be sure not to miss the mistletoe kissing booth. Nothing says holidays like making out.

I was at a company christmas party a few years ago, attending with a few friends of mine who were also co-workers (and roommates, recipe for disaster I know). We began that night as friends, but after numerous bottles of pink zinfandel, several girl-fights, drunken paint salesmen, a giant drunk obnoxious brachiosaurus-like girlfriend, and a cup full of alcohol dropping from a balcony to the packed hotel bar below, hoes came before bros. And we were never quite friends after that.

When I was 6 my mom took me to the mall to see Santa, who was played by an overweight fellow with a semi anger management problem, someone who should NOT be working with kids.

He was scary rather than jolly.

I was scared.

I peed on him.

Yikes. Sounds like a couple of bad scenes. Bad enough to warrant a bit of good news.

So congrats to Ben and Guillaume. We can't bring the magic of Santa back for you, but we can get you into a cool show with some fellow boozehounds.

Thanks for playing.

There are some really reasonable and dependable online cable suppliers and distributors,
who can give you a good deal, sometimes even better, than your
local retailer. While shopping for a new monitor, keep in mind that
a bigger display won't give you better graphic performance if you don't have a
good video card in your PC. Note that female DVI-D connectors will not
accept male DVI-A or DVI-I cables as those connectors have the additional 4 analog pins that DVI-D lacks.
