CONTEST: Win Julie Doiron Tix and CD!

Posted by Paloma / March 25, 2009

20090325-juliedoiron.jpgHere at Midnight Poutine we never give up the chance to satisfy your cravings for, among other things, free stuff. This time around we have up for grabs excellent shwag from Montreal-based, Acadian songstress superhero Julie Doiron--three copies of her latest album, I Can Wonder What You Did With Your Day, and a pair of tickets to her show on Saturday, March 28 at Il Motore.

To enter this contest, simply reply to this post telling Midnight Poutine the most outrageous thing that happened in your day. Points will be awarded for creativity and outlandishness. The winner will receive a CD and a pair of tickets, and two runners up will walk away with a consolation prize of a copy of the album. Contest closes on Friday at 10:00 a.m.

Why "in my day" I used to have to get up to change the channel, plan a meeting spot beforehand when meeting friends, and most outrageous of all - I couldn't listen to music on the metro, bus, or while walking!

today i measured the size of the synaptic response to individual vesicles of neurotransmitters by sticking tiny glass electrodes (tip diameter ~2 microns) into motor neurons in an intact (but anesthetized) fish spinal cord...

Congrats, lk, your scienterrific quotidian highlight reminded me of my best memories of high school science class--you get two tickets to Julie's show and a copy of her album. Alain, even though you are the automatic runner up, I hope you have some sort of newfangled CD player on which to play your copy of Julie's new CD. To the rest of our poutiny friends, we have a third copy of the album still up for grabs--the next person to tell me how they took advantage of today's glorious weather will snag it!

Spent the sunshine filled day with my 20 month old "sweeping" a dirt garden. She just loves being outside (first), and for some reason like to pretend to clean (really?). Fortunately the clean thing isn't outrageous, since she doesn't mind dirt at all... just likes to sweep things with a toy broom.
We heard Julie for the first time on last week's poutine podcast - would enjoy checkin' out the whole album...

Lovely anecdote, Matt. I hope you and your daughter will enjoy Julie's new album, though I expect you will... her stuff is cheerful and playful and easy to sing along to!
