Their fourth studio album I Learned The Hard Way came out in April. They are back in Montreal tomorrow to perform in the possibly best sounding venue - Le National. Opening band is The Heavy who released a very enjoyable record last year called The House That Dirt Built. Follow instructions after the jump to enter our draw for a pair of tickets to the show!

Since Sharon Jones & The Dap-Kings are masters of funk and soul, name one funk or soul artist, dead or alive, you wish could perform a show with Sharon Jones & The Dap-Kings. There will be one winner picked when contest closes at 10:30 AM on Monday May 25. Good luck!

Since we're talking great 2010 albums, specifically in the soul category, I'd love to see the eloquent José James share the stage with Sharon Jones & The Dap-Kings. His release this year, Blackmagic, is one of my favorite records of the year.

Sam & Dave would go so well!

I have to agree, Otis Redding would definitely be the obvious choice here.
But that answer's taken so I'll go with Sly Stone.
Wouldn't be as good a match but would probably be even more fun.

I like my funk golden AND sleazy.

The contrast of Sharon Jones and Nina Simone would be amazing to hear live. Any excuse to hear Nina one last time.

Thanks a million :D I actually made it to the National today, having read Monday May 25 on the post, and it saying that it was "tomorrow" relative to that. Ends up that today is the 25th, and the show's tomorrow, hah. Ah well, no biggy, I would've probably ended up downtown in the evening anyways ;D Thanks again; can't wait for the show.
