Preview: If Looks Can Kill... They Will!!! at Café Cléopâtre

20110817-glamgams.jpgJoin Montreal-based burlesque troupe Glam Gam for their much-anticipated return in If Looks Can Kill...They Will!!!, a murder mystery-inspired show happening at the iconic Café Cléopâtre.

According to their press release, "Something is not quite right within The Glamily! Ever since the polyamorous triad Sarah, Michael and Julie invited the other members over for a reunion dinner party cabaret, tensions have been rising on the set... and so has the body count!!!"

Audience members are encouraged to help Sherlock Homo and his sidekick solve the case and also have the chance to win a 50/50 raffle. Half of the raffle each night will go to charitable organization Head and Hands and the other half will go to one person who correctly deduces the identity of the murderer.

"We're hoping for the perfect fusion of silly, sexy and scary!," said Glam Gam member Jessica Klein. "In taking inspiration from the Clue movie, we wrote three thrilling conclusions to the story, so there's a different outcome each night."

After the show, stick around for a hot and sweaty dance party hosted by DJ Shocked N' Whorified.

Get the know the cast a little more intimately at Glam Gam's official website, which provides exciting video teasers released on a weekly basis in anticipation of the show.

Don't miss your chance to see this very special performance. I had the opportunity to see Glam Gam's Halloween show and was nothing short of amazed. Glam Gam truly stands apart from the rest with their singular blend of comedy, dance, costume, set and sex-appeal.

"Our shows don't necessarily fit with what many think of when they hear the word "burlesque," said Jessica. "While we do have members that perform classic numbers with feather fans and nipple tassels, we also focus on breaking down barriers of what is traditionally considered "sexy". We aim to represent a variety shapes, sizes, genders and sexualities on stage, so there's a little something for everyone at a Glam Gam show."

Glam Gam is planning to take the show on the road to Toronto in mid-September to perform at the historic Buddies in Bad Times Theatre.

The event is on for three harrowing nights! August 19th, 20th and the 21st.

Doors open at 8:30 p.m. and showtime is at 9:30 p.m.

Admission is $15 and $13 with a non-perishable food donation for Head and Hands.
