You're never too old for Pop: a recap

Posted by Mike G. / October 2, 2013

Wannabe_1_s.JPGI'm sitting outside on Wednesday afternoon at chez Boris, basking in the after-glow of summer, but my body is still not fully past its post-Pop Montreal coma. And that's because I made the classic rookie mistake of trying to cover too much ground, in a desperate bid to be in too many places at once.

Dos and don'ts of dumpster diving

Posted by Mike G. / August 8, 2013

dumpsterdiving_2s.JPG"I like doing this almost for what it is, rather than what you get," Scott says after climbing out of a dumpster at Jean-Talon market late last month, having fished out enough yellow beans to feed an entire Mile End dinner party. The ruling prohibits Fattal from suing the city of Westmount or its employees without the prior approval of a Quebec judge.

Jenn Grant at Upstairs Jazz (Apr. 10)

Posted by Mike G. / April 12, 2013

Jenn Grant_.JPG
On Wednesday night, songstresses Jenn Grant and Erin McKeown were meant to play two shows at the cozy Upstairs Jazz on McKay. But then someone forgot to file a visa application on time, so the only McKeown in the house that night was my pint of apple cider.
