Drifting, drifting, stylized drifting

Posted by Robyn / February 27, 2006

As I've done every morning since I've lived here in Weather-That-Could-Kill-You-If-You-Let-It-Land, I checked Environment Canada's website this morning. Nothing new - cold and with a respectable -29C windchill. BUT, I checked it again a few minutes ago and found this tiny image you now see on your screen.

How beautiful is that? I've never seen it before. Who's responsible for this tiny piece of weather art? It's like a logo - but for what? For "Drifting Snow," my friends, for Drifting Snow. I just, I have no words. I feel like it should be a tattoo. On me.

Wait, I've found some words. It's this perfect little thing, representing what that particular weather would be like if it weren't actually fairly painful to experience in real life (it's tiny bits of ICE, blowing into your EYES). This creation is the ideal, the very concept of Drifting Snow, formed at some lofty height in some climate-controlled building near the airport. And it is beautiful.

Man, I can't wait for Spring Jacket Weather. When you want to go out, and just through whatever on and some sneakers. No cumbersom coat. I look forward to it not being a complete bastart to just go get some milk.

i'll see your spring jacket weather and raise you some summer dress weather. my favourite day of the year, [other than that day that Sister Act and Sister Act II play consecutively, over and over again, until i'm all whoopi-sated] is the day when the summer dresses come out to play. now hear me out. i get to love montreal women for their brains all year long...but for some ungodly reason [frostbite?] am cruely denied their summer dress sass for nigh-on most of each year. jeers to that. tell that environment canada tattoo artist to sketch me up something for *summer dress warning in effect* and i'll slap that #%!* on my forehead.
