48% Of Montreallers Hate 3 Out Of 10 Digits

Posted by Dave / June 21, 2006

l_1112589.jpgChange. Even when it's a simple change, it's still labeled as "change" and therefore "bad." This is what some seem to think when it comes to the new way of dialing in Montreal. Starting this past weekend, when ever you dial the phone in Montreal, you'll have to use the full 10 digit number (ie: start with the area code). This really doesn't seem like that big a deal. However, on last night's CFCF news, a poll indicated that 48% of people that were asked, were unhappy about having to dial the extra three digits.

Midnight Poutine has conducted a few test and we have recorded the dialing of these three extra digits takes an average of 1.16 seconds. So even if you make 30 phone calls in one day, you're only dedicating 34.8 seconds to this change.

Please, oh dear God please, get over yourselves people!

GFY, "Dave." This is the single most inconvenient thing I've ever been subjected to. I won't stand for it!

Seriously, are you from Ontario you big stupid? Have you ever *used* a touchtone phone? Only a hipster douchebag would post something like this. Get bent.

If 34.8 seconds out of your day doesn't seem a terrible waste, then just how are you living your life, you poor fella? Obviously not to the fullest. I am sad for you.

I got off the bus there just the other day, and let out a loud "whaaaaa?!" when I saw the whole block was demolished. I knew it was inviteable... but it's kinda sad somehow. There was something about the mythical "Sexe machine" that will be missed when it's replaced with a Starbucks/Aldo/Jacob.Guilianied, indeed.
