Let us now document an unfortunate event

Posted by John / October 20, 2006

Today, I am pretty sure it snowed. I was sitting in my kitchen in the mid-afternoon, and it was raining, and then suddenly it was snowing. Large flakes, heavy and ungraceful like sodden strips of kleenex, mixed in with the rain. This continued for quite some time -- perhaps half an hour, I'm not sure -- and then occurred intermittently for the rest of the afternoon.

Fine. I am not "pretty sure." I am certain of the fact. And so I think we can record in our journals, officially, that Oct. 20 marked the first snow of the winter of 2006/2007. Am I wrong? Was there some earlier incident that I am either unaware of or have blocked from memory?

I have chosen not to provide any photographic evidence.
