Poor Little Lost Boot

Posted by Chip / November 27, 2006

Description: Single shoe/boot; black, size 4 (or thereabouts), interior fur lining above the ankle, fish logo. Mint condition. Also, its laces are tied in a bow, implying that the boot was on someone’s foot when it became jarred loose and lost.

Location: On a construction sign post at the northeast corner of Parc and Pins, up against the temporary asphalt sidewalk in the gravelly area.

I’m trying to locate the owner of this boot. Given the rainy conditions, I imagine that his or her foot is a little cold at the moment and that finding this boot is of utmost importance. Through some preliminary detective work, I have concluded that its owner is approximately 3’8” tall, likes fish or porpoises, and most likely works on the construction site at the intersection – probably operating a crane. Some kind person did their best to display the boot for the owner in a visible location, but to my knowledge it has still not been returned.

Let’s help the people of this city find their lost things. After all, what good is a single boot?

This kind of reminds me of Wag The Dog and Old Shoe. Maybe this boot isn't really lost, but a symbolic reminder of some hero, or some fake hero. No, you're right, clearly it belongs to a 3'8" crane operator.
