And some urban news: Starbucks is opening two Quebec branches outside of Montreal-- a first. Starbucks Beauport and Place Laurier will open in August. Did you know that there are 22 Starbucks in Montreal? They aren't as obvious here as in U.S. cities, maybe because they blend in with all the other faceless coffee chains... as well as lots of independent shops. We're pretty lucky when it comes to coffee.

Verdun has three new green spaces, and the Commission de toponymie du Québec has "baptized" them with their official names. One takes the name of a local councillor and mayor of Verdun, while the others have more generic titles. Interesting article, if you ever wondered how places get called what they're called.

Wow. 22 Starbucks', really? Didn't think there were that many. I wonder how that compares to Toronto or some other major NA city?
