Metro de Montreal

Posted by Kim / August 28, 2007

20070828_metro.jpgConsidering all the trouble lately with the city’s metro system, here’s some fun public transit news. Metro de Montreal is online, and is really a nice addition to the Google Maps phenomenon. All of the metro’s lines and stops are listed, with a city map on the side showing where each stop is. Click Satellite view to see a more realistic view, and the Hybrid view for a comprehensive mapping system. Also pretty cool is that each stop directly links to the STM site’s page about that stop. Fun toy to play around with!

(Another point of redemption for STM! To make up for the strike in May, STM is offering a $3.50 price reduction for September’s monthly pass. The only catch? You better have saved your May pass...)

A couple of things:

1. The metro stations are already included in Google Maps by default. Zoom in on one in map mode and you'll see a blue "M" with the name of each station.

2. For much more on the Montreal metro, visit <a href="http://www.metrodemontreal.com/";>MetroDeMontreal.com</a>.
