Tomorrow wherever you're going to be, should be, want to be, cancel it. Wavves, aka Nathan Williams + band are coming to town thanks to the collaboration of Blue Skies Turn Black and the festival Suoni Per Il Popolo. If you're amongst the many that does whatever Pitchfork tells you then i'm sure i'll see your face Sunday night.Opening for Wavves are Cloud Nothings tickets are 14.00 french-canadian dollars, doors at 8:30 at Il Motore.

I've seen Wavves in all incarnations, with drummer Ryan Ulsh circa 2008 and later 2009 with Hella drummer Zach Hill. This time around he's got some real heat behind him, with two former members of the late Jay Retards band. In spite of all the hype in the blog-o-sphere including alcoholism and le boeuf with Black Lips Wavves are a solid band. Then again, this depends on what your definition of solid is....if it includes grunge-esque, lo-fi, mosh rock, then were on the same page. If not, you should come to the show anyway in silent protest, you can even laugh at the hipsters and their sketch dance moves, you have my permission.

This might even be the last time I get to see Wavves! Well at least before tickets are more than what it costs to get me drunk. I'm saying all this since they've just released a shinny new single off their forthcoming album King of The Beach(Fat Possum). The single Post Acid smells like money to me, it's beautifully polished. Take a listen :Compare to my favorite track on Wavvves (2009), No Hope Kids: If it sounds like something you can jiiive to, them i'm sure to see you on Sunday night doing your sketch dance moves. In the meantime enjoy some photos I took of Wavves last summer in Toronto with the Zach Hill backing:
