This Weekend at Tohu: Fete Eco-Bio Paysanne

Posted by Amie / August 5, 2010

Fete Eco-Bio Paysanne at TohuI've never done my grocery shopping at a circus, but there are a whole lot of circus-related things (like trapeze) that sound fun and should be tried. . Starting this Friday, August 6th and running through Sunday the 8th, an organic and eco-friendly marketplace hits the grounds of the Tohu village at Jarry and Iberville for the Fete Eco-Bio Paysanne. Soak your feet in an ionic bath at Eco-Detox OR Entreprise TCM (yes, there are two different companies present who will be offering this service...) after trekking from booth to booth learning about the Portneuf Environmental Film Fest, purchasing some one-of-a-kind recycled jewelry from Bijoutia, and struggling to choose between all the organic, local fruit, vegetables, cheeses, wines, canned goods and imported fair-trade olive oils, spices, rice and teas. Oh, and there's music, workshops, some Haitian dancing and, of course, a little bit of circus.

Hours are limited: Friday from 1-8, then Saturday and Sunday 10-5, which doesn't give you a big bio-vegetable and eco-clothing-hunting window of opportunity. There are so many activities jammed packed into that three-day schedule - presentations from Recyc-Quebec, a "learn to make your own natural lip balm" workshop, bicycle repair workshops, presentations on healthy gardening and living soil, and some very early-evening DJ dancing. Sample enough honey wine and Quebec cider, though, and you might be up for it.

Basically if you're eco-conscious and looking to shop for just about anything, from cleaning supplies, to locally-made clothing, to jewelry, to home-made health bars, raw food, massage therapists, magazines, home-made soy milk, wood, health products and recycled buckwheat(?), this is the place to go. You can find a list of organizations present at the website below.

Howdy! Do you know if they make any plugins to safeguard against hackers?
I'm kinda paranoid about losing everything
I've worked hard on. Any recommendations?
