What's New Chez Vous, La (Found)erie?

Posted by Risa / March 2, 2012

Genevieve Champagne is a wise-eyed fashion adventurer with an admirable ability to run her fingers through the decades' ebbs of tacky and thrilling trends to fish out gems. Her vintage shop La (Found)erie across from Vices et Versa on St Laurent is an evolving experiment in DIY decorative design. Champagnes shop is always welcoming and cozy, and always rocking inspired music choices which helps her calmly coax her loyal customers into outfits ever more adventurous...

"By opening the shop I wanted to create a new kind of thrift experience; a boutique where presentation is as important as the garment and where every vintage item fulfills specific current trend demands. I also wanted to create a comfortable space where high end fashion wouldn't be intimidating and where quality pieces would be affordable and available to all of us."

So...What's new chez vous?

"I guess the most exciting thing the new year brought has been the launch of a .com with an online store and everything!

I'm also really excited about the Pop Up Shop collaborations. Pop Up Mash Up is an initiative started by La (Found)erie in late 2011 to help promote the work of local designers and artists. For two weeks a month, a section of the store is dedicated to the visiting collaborator who curates their own pop up shop and storefront windows at La (Found)erie with exclusive pieces.

In February La (Found)erie collaborated with local vintage purveyor House of Hangers for a special pop up shop dedicated to 90s hip hop. From Wednesday, February 8th to February 26th, House of Hangers took over a dedicated section of the store with finds that brought back the graphic, oversized pieces you loved in the early 90s - think TLC pre-Waterfalls and of course Lisa Bonet in A Different World.

In March we are focusing on redesigning the mezzanine to create a dedicated shoe section for new and vintage, men's and women's shoes!"

Local love bonus questions!: Most memorable meal and shopping experience you've had recently in a restaurant in Montreal? And who else should we feature in What's New Chez Vous?

Meal?: "Last week I went to Maison Indian Curry 2 days in a row! I've always loved going to that place. Have you seen the renovations? They have a rave wall! That's pretty memorable I think. I also found it pretty awesome that I ran into a friend (on my 2nd meal there) who admitted it was his 4th that week!"

Shopping?: "Most of my really successful buys are done at people's houses. Last week I had tea with a 75 year old ex prima ballerina! We hung out in her Westmount apartment and dug through her closets and played dress up. It was pretty much the best day of my life and I got to bring big bags of sequined items back to the shop with me. This is pretty much the best part of my job; I get to meet the most interesting people.

Who else?: "You should feature The Little Shop! Turn of the century to 80s, womens/mens/childrens vintage clothes, home decor, hats, furs, shoes, jewelry, lace, quilts & art.!/The_Little_Shop"

There are very few business phone systems are not based on this ratio.
There are several items you must look for in the company can use
will be the cost factor. After a great deal of professionalism and boost
the image of a prosperous firm. The service providers maintain the
entire infrastructure at their site phone system virtual and virtual PBX options.
For outgoing calls as you may desire down the road.
Just like the mobile phone system has a flip-up waist
clip for on-the-go dialing and phone system virtual caller ID.
