Igloofest 2013 Kicks Off

Whether you are into electronic music or not, if you are looking to enjoy the winter in true Montreal style you should strap on your Pajar's and get a giant viking hat and go dance your cold toes warm at Igloofest. Enjoy the odd irony-free mannequins encased in ice, and the ice carved into beer brand logos, and the amazing feeling of dancing with thousands of equally northern people in the snow outside.

After kicking off the fest this past weekend with happy packed crowds, fluo lights, and snow flakes swirling in the pumping beat to classic DJs like Mistress Barbara and - fan favourite of the weekend from those I chatted up - Josh Wink, the stages are set for 3 more weekends of winter excellence. Check out the schedule and buy tickets on Igloofest.ca or grab them at the main gates on the way in. Note that the fest wraps at midnight due to the usual sound restrictions in the Old Port, so make after party plans. And keep warm kids!
