Of ferris wheels and musket-men: your Nuit Blanche wrap-up

Posted by Mike G. / March 6, 2013

NB_lead.jpgThis past Saturday marked the tenth annual Nuit Blanche, the dénouement to the annual Montréal en Lumière festival. Armed with my camera and the Nuit Blanche iPhone app, I jumped on my bike and hit the streets. My tires carved out new paths through the freshly fallen snow as I pedaled towards my first stop: la Place-des-Arts.

It was after 1 a.m., but the line to the Air France-branded Ferris wheel stretched around the block. To complete the frustrated air travel experience, the attraction even featured a simulated screening area where you would hand in your ride ticket.

I'm not sure what Buckminster Fuller would have made of this plastic-dressed attempt at a geodesic dome, but I'm sure those warming themselves inside the Sphère Provigo didn't much mind: they had beer and a magician on hand to keep their spirits up.

I was off to the Old Port next and the Centre d'histoire de Montréal, which was being garrisoned by a company of New France musket-men. Good people.

Chill music played as psychedelic visuals danced across the clock tower at UQAM; a smell of burnt rope hung in the air. I thought I spotted someone from my swing dance class, pulling on a jazz cigarette.

It was after 3 a.m. by the time I reached my final stop: Metropolis on Ste-Catherine. Elsewhere, the crowds were thinning out but these revelers had clearly gotten le Twitter memo:

"Le party continue au @mtl_metropolis jusqu'aux petites heures du matin! #nbmtl— MONTRÉAL EN LUMIÈRE (@MTLenLumiere) March 3, 2013"

Not for me, though. I headed home, as I had work at eleven the next morning. A fresh dusting of snow covered the Maisonneuve bike path, which squeaked softly under my wide tire treads.

With havin so much content and articles do you ever run into any issues of
plagorism or copyright violation? My website has a lot
of exclusive content I've either created myself or outsourced but it looks like a lot of it is popping it up
all over the web without my agreement. Do you know any solutions to
help reduce content from being stolen? I'd really appreciate it.

I'm surprised by the knelwodge in this article post I found it to be more than incredibly motivating however it also made me reflect. It is difficult now a days to search out relevant information to ones search, so I'm happy that I found this blog7

Hi there do you mind stating which blog platform
you're dealing with? I'm going to get started on my own, personal blog soon but I'm having
a difficult time selecting between BlogEngine/Wordpress/B2evolution and Drupal.
The key reason why I ask is because your design seems different then most blogs and
I'm looking for something unique. P.S My
apologies for getting off-topic however i needed to

A motivating discussion may be worth comment. There's without doubt
that that you need to publish more details on this issue, it might not be a taboo matter
but usually people don't focus on these topics. To another!
All the best!!
