Please Read This If You Love Clothes

20090917-fashionpop.jpgI'm gonna level with you. For me, 99% of the Pop Montreal schedule is like a page of calculus homework or a hangover not being considered a legitimate reason to call in sick. I just don't understand. I wish I could get as excited as everyone else about all the amazing shows, but I just don't know enough about what bands are cool, and a lot of the time I find that shows are just so loud and there's so much standing. But I love Pop anyway, because of the amazing burst of energy the city gets before we all give up and just spend the next six months smoking weed and cuddling. And because the good, thoughtful people at Pop Montreal care about all of us, even if we really just go to shows to look at other people's outfits. For people like me, there's Puces Pop, and more specifically, Fashion Pop.

Kicking off Puces Pop, the festival's two-day market featuring all kinds of handmade treasures, Fashion Pop is a free fashion show featuring six local emerging designers, competing for a cash prize provided by sponsor Le Chateau, a feature in Worn Fashion Journal, and a chance to be friends with me and give me free clothes. It's a great opportunity to check out the new Espace Reunion on Hutchison , it's hosted by comedian Peter Radomski (voted #1 in the Mirror's Best of Montreal poll three years running!), djed by Peer Pressure's SHAYdakiss, and it's a chance for you to make friends with me and give me free clothes, so I don't really see any reason for you not to be there. I'll be the glamourous one in the front row with the big sunglasses and the shiny bob. I might look mean, but I promise I'm just discriminating.

A jury of fashion industry professionals will determine the winner among the six talented ladies competing, each of whom will present a six-look collection. The designers are Emilie Brunet of LA FETE, Rachel J. Chan of Contradict, Charlotte Eedson of girlfriend material, Marie-Eve Emond of Betina Lou, Flavie Lechat of Lechat Clothing, and Angie Johnson of Norwegian Wood. If I'm being honest, which I always am, I'll admit to having a little tickle of a fashion crush on Norwegian Wood, so I'll secretly be holding out for that victory. Her stuff has popped up in the agonizingly enviable wardrobe of tiny pre-teen blogger Tavi of Style Rookie , which in itself is good enough to make a fan out of me.

September 30th. It's the first day of Spring 2010 Paris Fashion Week, but this year I'm skipping the Balenciaga show for this. So I guess you know it's serious.

I'm looking forward to seeing Bruce Peninsula at Il Motore on the 30th. It's a Pop MTL show, but it's barely listed or advertised.

Weird.

18.10.2012 at 17:13 Out of my observation, shpnoipg for electronic devices online can for sure be expensive, yet there are some guidelines that you can use to acquire the best products. There are often ways to obtain discount deals that could make one to come across the best electronic products products at the smallest prices. Great blog post.
