Zoolander Sequel, Non-existent. For Now...

Posted by Melanie / September 2, 2007

I spent a good portion of today trying to confirm a rumour I heard that they will be filming the sequel to Zoolander in Montreal later this year. Sadly, I was unable to find anything that said anything about a sequel to what I think is a true piece of comedic genius. It's probably unnecessary and tasteless to push the Zoolander plot into another movie, but I haven't been so excited for a film since I heard about an American Apparel documentry that is said to be in the works.

The real disappointment came when I found out which Ben Stiller sequel will be filmed in Montreal. "Another Night", sequel to Stiller's "A Night at the Museum", a movie that should have embarrassesd both himself and Robin Williams. (Owen Wilson played a smaller role in it and was entertaining. Plus he was totally on drugs). On the brightside, it is always a good thing when movies are filmed in your town. Even if they are bad movies. Or is that not a good thing? Is it better to just have no movies filmed in a city or sequels and crappy ones? Sort of like those movies that are good for the economy but are bad for society. (I am trying to think of a good example but all i can think is Spiderman3, and I'm bored with that link).

I loved Zoolander. The part you posted though was so token. I like it when the creepy bit---, creepy woman is massaging him. that whole segment is too funny.

I can't believe they're filming a Dragonball Z movie here. madness. do you know where? that movie will be so popular.

lastly, what happened to ben stiller? he used to be funny and had invented his own comedic style but now he just ran out of lines. the oberservational humor in night at the museum was the worst thing ever. every time i fell asleep and woke up i was hurt that the movie was still on and robin williams hadn't died yet. if anyone should have run out into the sunlight, it should have been him. hit the bottle jack and don't come back, unless it's in 2 hour photo a developers nightmare.

Robert Williams burns are always appreciated, just in general. Apart from that I can't seem to find anything about the Dragonball Z movie.

I love movies that become funnier over time and parts that seemed insignificant become funny a year later randomly and on it's own. I can't think of a single part of Zoolander that is not amazing, but that's just me and I'm ridiculous. For example, the other day I started giggling remembering when he calls Matilda 'Matil,' It's just funny. But ever since Dodgeball I've lost faith in Stiller. Have you or anyone seen "Reality Bites" it's a 90's movie he made that was alright. Ethan Hawke made it annoying, but I think I liked it.
