10x10 Montreal: 100 Steps Through Our City
Special correspondent, photographer and Concordia political science grad David Vilder recently brought to our attention an exciting local project called 10x10 Montreal. For those who enjoyed "Paris je t'aime" and "New York I love You", now comes Montreal's own version under the working title "10x10 Montreal". Filming kicked off last week, and David was on set to snap a few pics.
Almost two years ago producers Aj Korkidakis, Melissa Fuller and Katie Nolan began a project that they hoped would showcase the city they knew and loved. They issued an open call for writers, directors, actors, editors, crew, and everything in between, and soon they were overwhelmed with people wanting to be involved. Months later, they selected the first 4 of 10 scripts and got to work. It wasn't long after they launched a trailer on YouTube that the CBC came knocking. The first four films will be featured next summer, with the possibility of 6 more to follow. The producer trio has been working alongside John Christou and Aisling Lee of Prospector Films ("Up the Yangtze") to ensure everything goes smoothly, and the films include the works of: Alessandra Ferrari (writer/director), Aj Korkidakis (writer/director), Louis Lazaris & Alex Rose (Director/Writer Team), Jeanne Leblanc (Director), Kevin Caughlin (Writer), and Cat Lemieux (Writer).
The project is in full production swing, with one film "in the can" and 3 more to go. If you're lucky, you just may see their set in your back alley.
