Here comes Oysterfest 5...

Posted by Bryan / September 1, 2013

Invite.jpg We've finally hit the months that end in "-R". Any fan of bivalves knows what that means; oyster season is here.

Oysterfest-by-Riccardo_Cellere-02.jpgNext Sunday, September 8th at 1pm, Terrasses Bonsecours (364 Rue De La Commune Est) will open for Montreal's oyster lovers to indulge their craving for crustaceans in the Old Port. Highlights will include a Melvillian haul of the season's finest oysters, a competition among Montreal mixologists to see who can mix up the best Clamato Caesar, a number of Montreal chefs preparing innovative oyster dishes, drinks from Burgundy Lion and Philemon along with the wildly-anticipated shucking competition. The competition will have talented shuckers from across the country seeing who can crack open the most oysters in the least time.

Admission comes at two prices: 35$ gets you entry and two food/drink tickets, while $65 gets you admission and 10 tickets. Food and drink tickets will be sold onsite for $5 each. All proceeds this year go to support the World Wildlife Fund Canada and ocean sustainability. Oysterfest promises not only some salty delicacies, but one hell of a party until 9pm that night.

Tickets will sell out fast, so get them here while they're still available.
