Tuesday Tidbits: April 3, 2007 – We’re number 22!

Posted by Chip / April 3, 2007

20070303_walkinginpark.jpgIt’s Tuesday, which means it’s time for Timbits. Try eating Timbits while reading Tidbits and then let me know if you have any Tidbits on eating Timbits. What am I talking about? Who knows, but here’s what the local media is talking about…

In a recent ‘study’, Montreal was named the 22nd most livable city in the world. Not bad. Zurich and Geneva were numbers 1&2, respectively, with Vancouver coming in 3rd. I don’t mind being number 22, but what do they really mean by ‘most livable’??

Blades of Glory is Will Ferrell’s newest comedy that pokes fun at the world of figure skating. It’s the number one movie in North America right now, which has the Montreal film scene smiling. A good number of scenes were shot here and if you check out the movie you might notice our fair city in prominent shots. That is, if you’re not busy rolling on the floor in fits of laughter…

The Ville Marie borough is taking an ambitious step in the fight against runaway recyclables. In an effort to control loose items spilling onto the sidewalks and blowing onto our streets, the borough is switching to plastic bags from the green boxes currently used for recycling. This will be a pilot project to be instituted in the next year…

Sticking with environmental issues, it’s making more and more sense to ride the metro, or a bike if you’ve got one. The price of gas rose 10 cents in a matter of hours today…

One of my favorite hangout dives was apparently destroyed by fire last night. Oh Scoop, how I will miss your free peanuts and foosball…

And Dears guitarist Patrick Krief was robbed of his most prized guitar, among other things. He’s trying to piece together cash for a reward. If you stole it, reading this account may make you consider giving it back.

Thank you a lot for providing idvidinuals with an exceptionally nice possiblity to read critical reviews from this site. It can be so brilliant and as well , packed with a lot of fun for me and my office peers to search your web site on the least 3 times in one week to learn the latest secrets you have. Not to mention, I am also usually amazed with all the stunning ideas you serve. Selected two areas in this posting are undoubtedly the most effective I've had.
