Spit on by the Adam Brown

Posted by Sara / October 2, 2005

I've dragged my shuddering, beer-sweating, nearly-deaf carcass out of bed this afternoon to share some dim recollections of last night with you, Gentle Reader. My only hope is that you join me in this wretchedly satisfying hangover--a fitting end to four days of Pop Montreal hijinks.

Arriving at Cabaret, we caught the tail end of a painfully earnest performance by Shaker, a band that pretty much reeks of the OC. Luckily, the Adam Brown have enough stage presence for about twelve bands. Their blistering set left us with a powerful hankering for more rawk, so we escaped before Sam Roberts took the stage.

Petit Campus, predictably, was a bit of a sausage party. I started pounding beers, pretending I was single, and getting my stoner rock on. We counted six completely un-ironic trucker hats. And Dopes to Infinity was playing between sets!

I was pleasantly surprised by Nitrosonique, and later drunkenly told them that they sound a fair bit like the Hellacopters, which is true. Priestess was good, but not Illuminati-good. Or maybe by then I was headbanged out.

I seem to remember Dave's flash popping intermittently beside me, so I imagine he'll post some pics whenever he gets up...
