Weekend Picks: June 9-12/06

Tonight (Friday), the Suoni per il Popolo festival (discussed in (videographic!) detail here) hosts Vancouver band the Pink Mountaintops, who play fuzzed-out jams about love and sex and drugs, at la Sala Rossa.

Saturday is an utterly ridiculous night. If you weren't lucky enough to get tickets to Radiohead at Place des Arts, a veritable embarrassment of choice remains: local buzz band (as in, they are bees) Think About Life play Casa del Popolo, Bardo Pond and Hylozoists play Sala, and Echo Kitty, Stutter and Ghetto Pony play O Patro Vys.

On Sunday, there's Radiohead's second of two shows. Some parterre tickets are being offered on eBay for a paltry $550 a pair. The Boy Least Likely To and the Bicycles play Cabaret, while the Mohawk Lodge, Poorfolk, Dave MacLeod (Timber) and Octoberman are at Green Room.

Utter morons Godsmack play Metropolis on Monday. Dude!
