Life is a highway

14055.jpgWhoa Nellie! Paris ain’t the only one choppin’ out the tunes this year, our own home-town F1 loser Jacques Villeneuve is also trying his hand at being a bard. Much to my gaping-mouth surprise, Villeneuve released his debut track, “Accepterais-tu?” last week and 5000 copies of the track are yours for your purchasing pleasure at his resto/lounge/club complex Newtown on Crescent.

“There are some great songs out there that need to be produced, some real hidden gems, so I wanted to do them and see how they would sound as well.” Villeneuve gloats in his PR agency interview.

Reeeally? Tell us more Jacques…

“It’s only your friends that hear it, and of course they’re going to say it’s great because they’re your friends and the same thing with the family. So it was important to me to see what could be done with them and we’re quite happy with the results, so it will get out there! (…) the criticism will be high, because it will be perceived that the only reason I did it is because I’m a race car driver and I can afford it.”

Judge for yourselves: Racing Career or Singing Career? The way the car driving is going, I expect an announcement for 365 day tour any time now.

I can't figure out what the deal is with his facial hair in that photo. It looks like he walked through a field of wheat after applying something sticky to his face. And those wispy hairs hanging over his nose look totally airbrushed.

You've got it J: it's the instant "how to look like Sam Roberts" system. Glue stick, field of wheat, photoshop.

Amazing... I can't believe this is a real story. Well, I'd tell him not to quit his dayjob, but he's a horrible driver as well and I think he did quit!
