Bedroom Madness: Hexes & Ohs CD Launch @ Lambi Tomorrow!

If you could combine kisses and hugs with evil spells and ecstatic moans in a time-wasting pen-n-paper game format, you’d have MTL’s hottest electro pop couple, Hexes and Ohs. The two lovers/artists are counting down as their new album, ‘Bedroom Madness’, is set to launch from the pad at Club Lambi (4465 St. Laurent) tomorrow night (Sat., Sept. 27, from 8 PM). The party will also include fellow MTL scene members, namely the folkstress Camaromance and genre/format colleagues The World Provider.

Although stylistically comparable, ‘Bedroom Madness’ undoubtedly reflects a higher production quality than that of their 2005 Noise Factory debut ‘Goodbye Friend, Welcome Lover’. Growth and development in the song-writing sector is also audible. Produced by Byron Wong (Crystal Method, Eurythmics, Davids Usher + Bowie), the album naturally blends electro beats with synth effects and poppy guitar riffs. The sexy, yet innocent, voices of sweethearts/bandmates Heidi Donnelly and Edmund Lam sensually fuse together making you feel you want something you can’t have even if you don’t want it and can have it.
As a CD review + interview mash up is set to follow on your favourite MTL blog, I don’t want to give away too much now. It's sufficient to say that all you electro-poppers should be thrilled about the new album release and ought to sniff out a copy as soon as practically possible. In addition to Saturday night’s album launch treat, Hexes and Ohs will also be performing at Les 3 Minots (3812 St. Laurent) on October 1st kicking off the action packed Pop Montreal festival. But I wouldn’t wait for that. Their success over the past few years, and pumpin’ new tracks like H-H-Highschool, guarantee a blast at the launch.
