TONIGHT: The Weakerthans & The Constantines

Posted by Valerie / March 26, 2009

Remember when The Weakerthans played with The Constantines over 5 years ago at Cabaret? If you don't, this is your chance to fulfill a Canadian indie-rock fantasy concert.

Former Propagandhi bassist John K. Samson and his Weakerthans will be playing songs from their 4 albums at Le National tonight. Things you should expect at a Weakerthans show include : hearing unusual musical instruments, getting hypnotised by Mr. Samson's charisma, having the chance to go play guitar with him on stage, and hearing an entire crowd singing along to such beautiful words as "I hate Winnipeg."

Also playing will be Guelph's The Constantines who released their 4th album Kensington Heights on Arts & Crafts a year ago.The Juno-nominated band is known for its raw, energetic performances that make you want to drink a couple of brews and forget about your 9 to 5 job (or at least that's what I'll be doing).
