You might have heard the musical stylings of the John Butler Trio, musical act extraordinaire from Australia. But have you seen them?

Shannon Heather studies the intricacies of anthropology by day and the eccentricities of rock 'n' roll by night. As a freelance photographer and writer on special assignment for MP, she caught up with John Butler on Monday before his epic show at L'Astral.

This is one of the first tours with new band members Nicky Bomba (drums, percussion) and Byron Luiters (bass, upright bass, didgeridoo), bringing new energy to the Trio.

This is what a John Butler fan looks like.

"My basic mission is to leave the room and the city that I've entered vibrating at a higher level than before I entered it. And I hope to be lifted as well, it's a symbiotic relationship." -John Butler. Mission accomplished.
