Independent Music: Armen at the Bazaar

Posted by Stacy / August 10, 2010

montreal independent music armen at the bazaarI would bet that half the population of Montreal's downtown core is made up of artists. The creatively inclined take a liking to Montreal because this place has got soul.In this city a lot of people are questionably labeled singers and songwriters.Nothing is worse for me than suffering through someone's best kept secrets over badly written melodies. This is not the case for Montreal's Armen at the Bazaar.

Take a listen:

Armen Bazarian is the man behind this melody, Expected to be Telepathic. Listening to Armen perform Expected to be Telepathic there was a depth of sound, spirit, and enthusiasm. His debut EP is a mix of folk sounds and melodic vocals, sewn together by delicate songwriting.Such as the soft-spoken Hearts&Thoughts,"through the power of the sun, and the fire behind our eyes, you and me will be free". If you have it in you to give one more singer/songwriter a chance you should check out Armen at the Bazaar.Your next shot is August 22nd at Le Cagibi. I'll leave you with a few photos from last Sunday's performance at Divan Orange.
