Igloofest: Photo Essay (Weekend #1)

Posted by Jer / January 16, 2011

Igloofest - Night Party As Phil noted, there was no shortage of (errr...) cool shows to check out at Igloofest this past weekend. In case you weren't brave enough to weather the sub-zero party, or hip enough to show off your flashy one-piece retro snowsuit, we sent some one from Team Poutine down to the Old Port to catch all the action. Special contributor and eagle-eyed photographer Shannon Heather gives us a photo recap of the first weekend at Igloofest. The party runs for two more weekends and if it's not obvious from the photos, you should get out there.

Igloofest - Waiting Would-be dance warriors crowd the fences, waiting for their turn to get an airport-style pat-down on the way into the festival

Igloofest - Goggles The cold Nordic climate setting and penchant for debauchery that Igloofest provides draws the occasional Viking to the dance floor

Igloofest - Goggles 2Not only fashionable, the ski goggle provides well-insulated protection from the elements, like beer jostling

Igloofest - Nice HatYou just never know when you're going to meet an Icelandic princess. To prepare, try memorizing this Icelandic saying: "Það er skammgóður vermir að pissa í skóna sína." Meaning: pissing in your shoes won't keep your feet warm for long

Igloofest - Good CrowdThis caption could not possibly say more than this guys face does (on the right)

Igloofest - Rock Mitts When grandma knitted them, she never thought they'd rock out so hard

Igloofest - Lost Mitt? A resounding roar rings out from the crowd in answer to "lemme hear it, who here's lost a mitten?"

Igloofest - Happy Crowd It's always a good idea to leave your valuables with a friend when crowd-surfing - you wouldn't want your keys to go missing to some dude in leather gloves

Igloofest - Lime Green Dance parties are like spontaneous combustion - can happen any time, anywhere, like outside the stage area, near the igloos

Igloofest - Shots It is important, at these events, to stay warm and stay hydrated. Luckily, Igloofest provides the opportunity to kill two birds with one shot

Igloofest - Wide Shot When crowd-surfing, it's best to begin near the front where people are really revved, and not be too ambitious with your starting point

Igloofest - Warm Hat Kudos for commitment, but maybe check the lineup next time

Igloofest - Excited! Sometimes, near the end of the night, you need a good friend to coach you through your party foul of wanting to go home

Igloofest - Big Red Hells yeah! I totally found my mitten!

Igloofest - Zorro? Sometimes a low-profile identity is best

Igloofest - Made for Each Other
Too cute for words

See you next weekend!

Thanks for your review!I've done a few big festlvais like ultra and most recently boom in portugal, id like to do BPM next year. especially after reading how its restored you faith in electronic music. i could use some of that right now, especially after living in ottawa! I assume BPM is kinda like wmc? lots of events scattered across the city? getting to and from anything in miami was absolutely INSANE because of the 150,000 ravers that flooded downtown, whats it like at BPM? do you have any advice on festival logistics?any insight would be really appreciated!!

So, follow the above mentioned tips to stay social network safe.
For those with loosely structured accounting
departments, this is detrimental to a company. Smartphone's video chats, business video
conferencing, 3G services for better quality, data connectivity using Bluetooth & internet, corporate
or personal emails, telephonic calls, cloud services, and so are the lists of few services among several that are
used and required frequently.

I do agree with all the concepts you've introduced in your
post. They're very convincing and can definitely work.

Still, the posts are very shokrt for beginners.
May you please prolong them a little from next time? Thanks for the post.
