This week in concerts: On the musical menu this week, we've got an album launch, a goodbye show, the glorious conclusion of the 17th Vue sur la Relève festival, and tons of local artists. We hope you're hungry.

Wednesday, April 18:
Elsiane (album launch), Club Soda
Montreal duo Elsiane brought the glory of downtempo/trip-hop to Montreal with their debut album, Hybrid, in 2007. On their new album Mechanics of Emotion, we encounter once again Peru-born front-woman Elsieanne Caplette's captivating, unusual vocal style and the duo's entrancing, lush melodies.

Wednesday, April 18:
Le Roi Poisson, Divan Orange
For the last but certainly not the least of their shows, Le Roi Poisson plans to bid us adieu by dishing out the best of their tunes from 2008 and 2009, and also possibly setting something on fire. Their performance will be preceded by a 5@7 launch of Couteau Papillon's first self-titled album. The Montreal trio boasts a mix of " tropical heatwave to a flamenco influenced melody, from funk to jazz passing by electronic rock". You can name your price for the album on the band's BandCamp website.

Thursday, April 19:
Klô Pelgag, Raphaël Freynet & Simon Kingsbury, Cabaret le Lion d'Or
Klô Pelgag's second participation to Vue sur la Relève brings back her violins and her cello, her amusing take on classical music, and her fantastic vocal prowess. She will be sharing the stage with singer-songwriter Raphaël Freynet, his brit-rock inspired melodies and his lovely quasi-falsetto, complete with piano, guitar and brass instruments, and with Simon Kingsbury, another local singing-songwriting marvel whose honest folk and intimate lyrics perfectly round up this wonderful lineup.

Saturday, April 21:
Propofol & Lasermagiclaser, Cabaret le Lion d'Or
Named "pop-rock relevation of the year" by MEG Montréal in 2011, Propofol's wildly catchy dance tunes might cause intense dancing and rocking out resulting in neck or hip injuries. Lasermagiclaser's space-pop, influenced by Japanese pop, science-fiction and Kitsch, should keep the party going till the late hours. An altogether energizing and fun, albeit slightly dangerous, lineup.
