Once upon a time according to my clouded memory, We Are Wolves opened up for every act that came through Montreal (figuratively, of course). I remember them as a guitar/synth/drums trio who all stood side by side and played like they were manually linked up in an electro daisy chain. Checking out some of their latest stuff (see the videos below), these guys have matured a little in the way of song structure and variety, which is why today they're much more of a main act. But make no mistake that their expansion doesn't mean they've grown too big for their dancing pants. They will move you (literally, of course).

Some people would say that Annie-Claude Deschênes, lead singer of Duchess Says, is "insanely beautiful" (quote from a YouTube commenter). You might also say that she is insane, which in itself is beautiful. She has that trance-like craze in her eyes and dances like she's possessed. But lock yourself in a room and blast out their music, and you might find yourself lip-syncing and spasmodically dancing in your own Ducal-obedience fantasy concert. But you'd be better off joining the rest of us in the crowd pushing and angling to be better assaulted by these guys live.
