Humpday Headlines: June 13, 2007

Posted by Chip / June 13, 2007

20070613_bussign.jpgResident Humpday Headliner Cat is on hiatus this week, so I humbly try to fill in.

What can I say, other than it’s a slow news day. The local media must be down to skeleton crews for the summer, because there’s not a lot of reporting going on. It’s either because staff is playing hooky, or vacations have kicked in – but can you blame them? The summer season is in full swing, and there’s not a bad weather report in sight.

As we warned you yesterday, the Autoroute Ville-Marie is about to undergo some major repairs. Specifically, the Fort St. exit will be closed on and off while a support pillar is reinforced – and then potentially reconstructed…a teenager has won a suit against his minor hockey team and as a result will have a great summer spending his dough (unless his parents make him put it into savings, in which case it may be a sucky summer)…A South Shore doctor has quit his post over his exasperation dealing with his staff shortage…Vermont media is warning their readers about catching Measles in Montreal…2 Montreal brothers are still in a Saudi prison after a school yard brawl turned ugly…

And in food news, 2 local chefs are taking their skills to the small screen. Trying to replicate Iron Chef in a local setting will be no small task, but the Food Network seems to think it’ll work.
