20070614bear.jpg Here's your Jeudi news, because I know you want it:

Following Chip's report yesterday on the closure of the Fort St. on-ramp, you'll be glad to know that the Laval overpass that crumbled last fall has now reopened. With all this city's road woes, Midnight Poutine recommends traveling by waterway only.

Street gangs are apparently taking over Montreal. They're laundering money and forming associations with other gangs and organized crime. They're also recruiting children as young as 11 years old.

While the strike at Notre-Dame-des-Neiges continues, MetroBlogging Montreal has a good post about the aesthetics of the cemetery "au naturel". In other discontent worker news, it seems both ER nurses and ER doctors are severely burnt out, with emergency rooms at hospitals around the city operating way over capacity. In other words, if you break something, fix it yourself.

And finally, Hudson residents are excited by a new furry neighbour: a black bear has been spotted near the local golf course (rumour has it, he has a 3 handicap). In case any of our readers encounter the bear, we offer the following bear safety video. Good luck.
