The Parc du Mont-Royal is getting a make-over. The city is holding info sessions on the plan to spruce up the Lac aux Casteurs picnic area and playing fields at “la Clairière” the next two Sundays. The Peel entrance to the park is also getting a fix. You can find the project plans here.

Burials start tomorrow at Notre-Dame-des-Neiges cemetery, which has been paralyzed by a labour dispute since May. A backlog of 500 bodies, due for cremation or burial, has built up.

The take-over of la Bourse de Montreal by Toronto's TSX will likely unfold over the next six months. La Bourse may be valued at up to $1.3 billion.

With Habs' training camp due to kick off Friday, the hockey press has high hopes for 19-year-old Russian defenceman Pavel Valentenko. Though he has been in Canada only a fortnight, Valentenko has reportedly mastered a few words that can get you far in Quebec: «Tu es belle...»
