Your morning news roundup for Monday, May 5th, 2008:

It's over: the bleu-blanc-rouge lost a heartbreaking 6-4 to the Philadelphia Flyers on Saturday, marking the an end of their bid for the Stanley Cup. Today is garbage day at the Bell Centre as the Canadiens trudge through to clean out their lockers, pick up their offseason fitness programs, and meet with management before departing for a long summer. Tomorrow, general manager Bob Gainey and Guy Carbonneau check in with the media to look over the season that was. But if Facebook statuses were any indication on Saturday night, fans are grateful for a wonderful series and are already looking forward to next year. The dream is over, but only for now; 2009 marks the 100th anniversary of the CHC, a year that many hope will bring the Stanley Cup back to Montreal. Let us know your thoughts, whether they be about the upcoming season, Saturday's game, or how surprised you were to see Carey Price actually shed a tear.

A 22-year old gang member was shot dead in front of Concordia yesterday following a private party at Reggie's Bar, the student pub on the Sir George William Campus. According to a constable, a group of people were arguing at 3:40 a.m. when the victim was shot in the upper body. Several people called 911 and reported hearing gunshots. A Reggie's employee performed CPR on the man until ambulances arrived. He died shortly after he got to the hospital. The victim was well-known to police, but they won't release his name. They'll be taking a close look at security cameras on the street to see if the crime was recorded.

player don't hate on carey price. obviously he cared. this was his first season in the nhl, ofcourse he worked his ass off, and of freaking course he's going to try to keep his cool the whole time, so why should it be a surprise that he "shed a tear" at the end of it all?
