Fresh brewed news for Tuesday, October 21 2008:

Well there it is for you, kiddies. Failed Liberal leader Stéphane Dion will resign in the Spring. In a press conference that took place yesterday, he blamed his party's losses on his inability to couter Conservative stabs at his carbon tax.

Montreal police is looking for two suspects and a pickup truck in connection with the attack on the Hells bunker, although some people might argue the pickup truck has already been found.

The Bank of Canada may have cut interest rates to 2.25%, but the loonie keeps sinking. Our Canadian dollar hit the $0.82 markdown. All around the world, markets are still trying to get back on their feet.

There is a new listeria warning for the province of Quebec: Plaisirs Gastronomiques sandwiches containing beef, including the roast beef and Monterey Jack submarine and pita, and the garlic beef and chili on flax bread sandwiches with a best before date of Oct. 26 have been tested positive with the bacteria. (Writer's note: the story was also reported on the CBC website here but there was no allusions to which sandwiches might kill you... thanks CBC!)
