Morning Brew: April 10, 2009

Whether this is an unleavened Friday, a Good Friday, or just a good Friday for you, it's undeniably the beginning of spring. The Gandharvas might've had their day a couple weeks ago, but it's a beautiful day outside today. Get out there.

Before the last of the ice melts, though, head over to the Biosphère at Parc Jean-Drapeau and check out Arctic: Walking on Thin Ice, an exhibit running until the end of April. Featuring 40 amazing photographs from the Canadian Arctic, you can learn something about your Northern neighbours while soaking in the southern sun.

Are you thinking of buying a major hockey franchise? Do you have a few million dollars lying around? Even if you did, Premier Charest has said that the government won't be giving any preferential treatment to potential buyers of the Montreal Canadiens.

And in related hometown hockey news, we can all breathe a collective (albeit temporary) sigh of relief: though the Habs lost in overtime last night in a hard-fought game, they'll be going to the playoffs after all. As if there was ever any doubt.
