Fresh brewed news for Thursday, April 9 2009:

St. Henri residents are upset at the city's $1.5M plan to rebuild the Turcot interchange. Yesterday, hundreds of protesters took to the streets and distributed carrots to passer-bys, because carrots are good for the sight (now that sounds better in French...) and the plan oversees many factors. "There were a lot of things that weren't taken into consideration with this project, including ourselves," said Michel Charbonneau, a resident facing expropriation from his home of 11 years.

Tonight, our dearest Habs will be playing the Bruins at the Bell Center. Let's just hope they win this time. Now, I don't know a thing about hockey statistics, and even less about series statistics, but I think losing three games in a row would not be good...

Two Concordia University researchers have been awarded $22 million to study ways to transform agricultural and forestry waste into reusable fuels. The grants are the largest ever by Genome Canada to investigate environmental sustainablility. It's about time!
