No sign of swine flu in Quebec yet, but in the event of an outbreak, Montreal is prepared. The city has an emergency plan that would turn hotels into hospitals and recruit retired health care workers to treat victims.

Julie Couillard, ex-girlfriend of ex-Foreign Affairs Minister Maxime Bernier, auctioned off her infamous plunging neckline dress for a mere $1000 at a fundraiser for epilepsy research. Couillard was hoping bidding would reach $5000, but this was no blue Gap dress: the one-time biker babe caused a stir when she wore the revealing dress to Bernier's swearing in ceremony (she claimed she thought it was inappropriate, but he insisted she wear it).

Nun's Island has declared war on... children. At a recent council meeting, a group of residents submitted a petition with 146 signatures asking that a park near their houses be shut down because children playing there were making too much noise. Thankfully, the mayor shot down their proposal. Fun isn't illegal... yet.

Talk about a bunch of pathetic whiners. I cannot believe anyone would target children in their need to spit venom.
