Two brand spankin' new metro elevators were inaugurated yesterday at Berri-UQAM and Lionel-Groulx stations. Unfortunately, it could be another 25 years before all of the metro's stations are wheelchair accessible. Next on the docket are stations Côte-Vertu, Bonaventure and Henri-Bourassa.

The Quebec Superior Court is still trying to find out if former Quebec lieutenant-governor Lise Thibault should be charged for unjustified spending of those $700,000 of tax-payers' money over 10 years. A Judge reviewed evidence yesterday and will eventually decide whether Mrs. Thibault will be prosecuted.

In completely irrelevant news, Google has created some sort of controversy by making the logo on their homepage as a bunch of crop circles. Google also tweeted some coordinates that smart people have been able to locate as the town of Horsell in the UK - which, coincidentally, is the town where HG Wells set the first UFO landing in War of the Worlds. Is it pointing to something? Is it just viral marketing? Only aliens know.

For the artsy-fartsy crowd, the Centre St-Ambroise is hosting a plethora of activities, including readings, vernissages, conversations and exhibitions. A complete listing of events is available on the center's myspace.
