Quebec is getting ready to sue tobacco companies for billions of dollars, just like Ontario did last week, to recover money spent on healthcare for smoking-related maladies. The move has been called "sheer hypocrisy" by targeted tobacco companies: Quebec Health Minister Yves Bolduc plans on arguing that cigarette companies have been withholding crucial information about health risks from customers.

City council candidate Marc-Boris St-Maurice will provide outdoor public urinals to try and stop partiers from peeing in the street. The runner-up for the Plateau district of Jeanne Mance says that men peeing on streets, walls and in doorways and alleys is a health hazard and leaves a bad smell - and let's face it, it's gross.

La Presse has uncovered information showing that over 3,000 teachers are currently teaching without a permit . These teachers have been granted "temporary teaching authorizations" and "tolérances d'engagements". Instead of going back to university for four years, most of them turn to Ontario, where teaching certificates take 8 months to complete.

Sheer hypocrisy indeed. The Ontario and Quebec governments seemed to have no moral qualms collecting taxes on every cigarette sold.
