Junior hockey offender Jonathan Roy has been fully discharged after pleading guilty to charges of assault on a fellow player on Wednesday. Hockey legend Patrick Roy's son, who has been stuck in a media frenzy ever since starting a brawl with opponent Bobby Nadeau during a match, and the affair was the instigator of a nation-wide debate about the place of violence in sport - and in hockey.

The Montreal Gazette has put together a nice recap of everything Montreal taxpayers have been giving money to city politicians for, and questions the generosity of the public. It's a bit on the long side but it just might remind you why it will be crucial to vote on November 1st.

McGill University has ranked no. 18 in the Times Higher Education-QS World University Rankings, which ranks universities on the basis of research excellence, staff-to-faculty ratios, and the number of international faculty and students among others. In comparison, Harvard University has ranked number 1, and UofT ranked 29. Full rankings are available here.
