So unless you've been living under a rock or in the sun somewhere else.. it's hockey season. Our beloved Canadiens are off to a magically entertaining start to the celebratory 100th year. We sit second in the East only 4 points back from the heavily stacked NY Rangers team. Yet we've got our own show time line and a set of hero's of our own. Players who have got us to be tied for first in the East for goals for with 47 tallied up, and have the second least amount of goals against. This is just to say the least and leads to the next topic, the fact the Montreal Canadiens will host the All Star game. The 57th NHL All-Star Game will be played at the Bell Centre on Jan. 25 2009. With the success we've been having and sheer excitement of hockey in the city it seems rather appropriate that a leading 6 players from Le Bleu-Blanc-et-Rouge were named to the All-Star Fan Balloting. The 6 Canadiens -- goaltender Carey Price, defensemen Andrei Markov and Mike Komisarek and forwards Saku Koivu, Alex Kovalev and Alex Tanguay -- equal the number from the defending Stanley Cup champion Detroit Red Wings to be noted. Is there something happening? - maybe. Voting began today for the starting lineups of the Eastern and Western Conferences teams. Montreal is leading the pack by leaps and bounds as of now! You can also write in any player if they do not appear on the nomination list. Some Montreal Canadiens have even made the list without being nominated. Christopher Higgins is one, who may have got his foot in the door with the beautiful hat-trick last night against those pesky Sens.. continue reading for more on the voting process, and our Habs status currently.

Fans can vote for their favorite players to be in the starting lineups as many times as they want, and for the first time in professional sports history, the NHL will provide real-time All-Star fan balloting results online at NHL.com. Fans around the world can vote online from Nov. 12 through Jan. 2 via interactive English and French ballots at Vote.NHL.com. Those in the U.S. and Canada also will be able to cast their votes via text message using any wireless carrier. During the voting period, real-time results will be available exclusively on Vote.NHL.com/results. This marks the third-consecutive year the All-Star balloting process is entirely digital. Get on there and vote for the Canadiens, let's make history and have the whole starting line-up Canadiens players.. that could only mean one thing... good things to come...

Dear Lord Stanley... is it time for 25 yet ?
