Photo Essay: ACME Burlesque at Mainline Theatre

Posted by Cindy / September 9, 2012

20120907ACMEburlesque01.jpgIt was a rowdy night over at Mainline Theatre this past Thursday as they hosted a night of live music, comedy and clothes hitting the floor. ACME Burlesque is a cabaret show featuring Montreal's finest burlesque performers as well as live music by the ACME Combo. The cabaret debuted back in February and have held performances at the Montreal Fringe Festival and at this past weekend's Montreal Art Tattoo show. Co produced by Seska Lee and Shayne Gryn (ACME Combo's bandleader), it brings together a mix of Montreal's burlesque scene, including Miss Sugarpuss, Cherry Typhoon, Sucre a la Creme, The Lady Josephine and many more. There was dance by Esmeralda & Fabienne and songs performed by Brie Neilson. It was a night of both traditional and experimental burlesque ending with laughs, hollers and good times.

This show marked the beginning of The Month of Burlesque, which will culminate with the Montreal Burlesque Festival later in September. Here are highlights from the night:
