It's the Wednesday before Victoria Day and we can officially say that Festival season is underway in Montreal. This long weekend alone there's Montreal's punk focused Pouzzafest, the start of Piknic Electronik's 10th season and a brand new fest to add to the mix: The One Man Band Fest. The organizer of this last one, Jon Cohen, joins us this week as guest host to tell us about the 3 day affair of shows, workshops and more useful events for solo artists. And, lest we forget, there's also our own Midnight Poutine event going down: a Beastie Boys themed dance party tribute in honour of MCA (R.I.P. Adam Yauch). It's got a great line-up of DJs, it's co-organized by the always awesome Pop Montreal and all door proceeds go to the Canadian Cancer Society.

Finally, we've got a track from Francouvertes winners, Mélanie and Stéphanie Boulay! The male contingent of the podcast don't know it, but I've somehow managed to turn this week's podcast into a female-dominated singer-songwriter show with a little rock and banjo to round things out. That's well-rounded, right? I mean, what else is there? Punk, hiphop, crunkcore, shranz, and epic doom metal? Maybe next week.

The momentous 250th episode has come and gone and we owe many of you a debt of gratitude for lovely comments and shout-outs here and on our Facebook and Twitter pages. But the celebrations aren't over. This week, we've got a very special in-studio performance with local singer songstress Erin Lang, who shares a sneak peak of her forthcoming album, Between You and the Sea, with us. Another anniversary episode is upon us. Yup. This humble ol' show that probably shouldn't have lasted more than a few weeks has made it through 250 episodes in its 6 years of existence. It's more a feat of persistence and stubbornness on our part than anything else, but for listeners who've been kind enough to follow us during this journey (even if it's only been an episode here and there), it's a true sign of your dedication. We thank you, profusely and profoundly, for the time you've given to this show. We hope you've discovered a few new favourite artists, songs, and venues along the way. We know we have.
