On this week's Midnight Poutine Podcast, host Jeremy Morris wades through the sea of music that is washing over Montreal in the next few days to bring you only the most delightful creatures. Please insert your own metaphor here, so long as it involves tidal wave, tsunami, or wave pool.

On Thursday rock out and do some good at the Africa is Real benefit show with The Lovely Feathers, Kweku and the Movement and other guests at Les Saints.

Friday, there are too many damn shows going on to give you clever intros to each of them. Check out some rock français courtesy of Le Volume Etait Au Maximum with Les Prostiputes at Foufounes Electriques (5$). Or, if you're into dub, One Night Band, Arbutus Trio, Dub Guns play Quai des Brumes (6$).

Avant-rockers The Slip play Sala Rossa with Wintersleep (10$/12$) while post-rockers Explosions in the Sky hit Le National with The Paper Chase and Eluvium ($15.00). Finally, The Autumn Defense (featuring members of Wilco) and The Singleman Affair play Main Hall ($10 / $12).

Saturday sees lo-fi legends Sebadoh end a 14 year touring hiatus as they swing into Sala Rossa with Brian Seeger and Flecton Big Sky opening ($15.00)

Relax on Sunday with some talented singer songtresses at Zoobizarre. Warriorette, Missing Children and Belleisle are on the reasonably priced bill ($5). Or, get insane at Casa Del Popolo's Rumble Pack Attack noisefest featuring Grand Nord, Jim Slay, Gym Sweat, Metis Yeti (pwuc) @ Casa del popolo. Sunday also showcases Portland's Menomena, with Montreal's Land of Talk and Sunderland's Field Music at Main Hall ($12.50)

On Monday, the music just keeps on coming. Asthmatic Kitty records brings Castanets and Shapes & Sizes to Friendship Cove, with There Were Valleys opening ($8.00). Meanwhile, Fear Before the March of Flames, Russian Circles and Damiera take over Club Lambi (12$)

And finally...I don't know much about noise music, but I know enough to know that you shouldn't miss Tuesday's blowout show at Sala Rossa, featuring Burning Star Core, Prurient, Hototogisu, Carlos Giffoni, Dreamcatcher, and Ste-Sophie ($10/$12)

Enjoy whatever you get up to.
