We're a bit behind the ball getting this week's podcast up and running. But fear not, we have your weekend well-planned. This show features a few firsts: the first phone call, the first album launch double feature and the debut appearance from MP correspondent Scott Gray. Enjoy.

Tonight, Thursday, check out some chill rock courtesy of Darling DeMaes at O Patro Vys or some dance rock thanks to Crystal Castles at Lambi. There's also some math rock and other jarring sounds coming out of the Ahleuchatistas, Tugnut, Bisbaye, and The Discord of a Forgotten Sketch at Main Hall (15$).

Friday has cleverly named First You Get The Sugar and Tim's Myth at Les Minots (7$). The Saint Alvia Cartel, Whiskey Trench and The Next Best Thing lay down some ska at Cafe Campus. Over at Zoobizarre Les Temps Liquides and Meta Gruau spread the love, French-style (5$).

Saturday soir, Porcupine Tree and 3 play Metropolis while Toronto punkers The Cliks are at Le Savoy, which is apparently connected to Metropolis. Fans of bluegrass won't want to miss Matt Large and his band, Notre Dame de Grass as they launch their newest album, New Canada Road, at the Green Room.

But wait, there's more. The World Provider, Republic of Safety, and Donzelle, bring their respective and collective eclectic-ness to the Cabaret Playhouse ($7) while Senses , You and Me and The Corduroys play a relatively mellow show by Zoobizarre standards (5$).

On Sunday, relax as singer songwriters Glenn Nuotio, Missing Children and Cherie Pyne lull you with their sweet sounds.

On Monday, stop relaxing and start rocking with Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, Dead Combo and Wild Light at La Tulipe or join the Handsome Furs at Lambi for their album launch.

If you've got any fuel left in the concert tank, Tuesday brings Lady Sovereign, Hatchmatik , Merk Meny and A-Rock to the Just For Laughs Studio (2101 St-Laurent) (15$).
