This week's podcast, our most edifying edition yet, is chock-full of tunes from the Suoni festival. Deadweight Jeremy Morris returns from a week away and tries, despite the attempts of John MacFarlane, to restore some decency to the Midnight Poutine Weekend Playlist.

In case you didn't know, Suoni Per Il Popolo is well underway at Sala Rossa and Casa Del Popolo. The experimental music festival runs for the entire month of June and both venues are loaded with interesting shows nightly. There are even workshops/jam sessions to attend with ultra legendary musicians like William Parker and Hamid Drake. Rather than list every show, I'll simply refer you to the full schedule. Get out and enjoy yourselves.

If Suoni isn't for you and if you aren't busy watching the Sens game, Wednesday, has indie-poppers Clientele, Beach House and the Receivers at Club Lambi ($12). At Zoobizarre, former Despistado fans should check out the band's new incarnation, Geronimo, with The Will Austin Escape and Danger Danger Mammoth Hunter ($8). Also, CBC-approved Surface of Atlantic host a free CD launch party at Cabaret Juste Pour Rire (6pm).

Thursday, P.E.I. singer songwriter Nathan Wiley swings into the Green Room ($8) while Go Sumo and Final Flash rock out at Zoobizarre. There's also some trippy experimental indie francais at Le Divan Orange, courtesy of Caniche Hara-Kiri (Sharkut opens). And even though I said I wasn't going to mention Suoni shows. I'd be remiss if I didn't tell you that the Charalambides, Ghq and Midnight Poutine's unofficial house band Triceratreetops are at Casa.

On Friday, locals Sarah Mangle, Warriorette and Brian Seeger invite you to pay what you can to watch them at La Centrale while Devlin & Darko (Spankrock DJs), Megasoid and the Peer Pressure DJs (A-Rock + Hatchmatik + Merkmeny) request you pay $10 to shake your ass with them at SAT. For something equally ass-shaking, check out Afrodizz at Divan Orange.

Saturday evening is legends night as Dinosaur Jr. rocks into Club Soda (with Uncut and Awesome Color opening) and Ween rolls into Metropolis. Not quite as legendary, but still worth mentioning, Voxtrot, Favourite Sons and Au Revoir Simone play Main Hall ($12).

Instead of a quiet Sunday evening, why not further damage your F1-destroyed ears at Petit Campus with The Horrors (Uk), Schoolyard Heroes and Dandi Wind ($10). If you feel like some dance-rock instead, check out BC's You Say Party! We Say Die! with LA's Great Northern and MTL's Kickers at Le Divan Orange ($10). Speaking of parties, the Ghettonuns are having a CD launch party at Zoobizarre.

Finally, Tuesday brings Hexes and Ohs, Heroes & Villains and The Will Austin Escape to Le Divan Orange while Albert Hammond Jr. and The Dead Trees play La Tulipe.
