Trick or treat? Get out your loot sack cuz this week's podcast is full of audio treats for you. Despite my refusal to degrade the podcast's integrity by hosting a Halloween-themed episode, this should still be the perfect playlist of tracks for those out collecting candy or those dressing up and acting ridiculous.

But for all the pranksters out there, sadly, there are no tricks. Other than some seamless audio editing.

Have a happy Halloween. Don't eat any apples with razors in them. Don't eat razor blades either. Do enjoy your Midnight Poutine Podcast, though:

This Quiet Army - A Hammer Parade Falls from the Sky
The Weakerthans - Plea from a Cat Named Virtue
The Weakerthans - Tournament of Hearts
Jenn Grant - Dreamer
Tom Brosseau - I Tune my Guitar to the Hum of the Train
Hauschka - Red Pencil
Múm - Dancing Behind my Eyelids
Pash - Kill the Rich Boys II
Say Hi (to your Mom) - Northwestern Girls
Le Chat Blanc Orchestra - Son Visage Déchu et Fatigué

as a Montreal----> Toronto transplant, i am in constant pain at the absence of my beloved ex-local music scene. Listening to you podcast, I'm imagining the songs you play in the grandeur of sala rossa, the warmth of divan orange, the friendliness of f. cove... oh, i miss my city.

thanks so much...

Here are comments.

I live in Vancouver now (formerly Mtl) and like your podcast pretty ok good. It lets me live vicariously a bit.

I have a question: Why do you keep saying
"Weakerthins"? I thought you were about to introduce a tribute band to the Weakerthans. (I like to pronounce it "weaker-thans" like the math sign.)

I'm glad the podcast it's helping former montreals ease their moves across the country. Thanks so much for listening.

And Teena, yeah, I'm trying to say "thans" (rhymes with Ann) not "thins" (rhymes with shin). But, I'm a lazy talker so maybe it doesn't come out crystal clear. Witness, for example, my lazy uttering of Brosseau's last name too.

We should definitely start a tribute band called the weakerthins though. Or the wafferthins. Who's in?
